Portland Japanese Garden

Join us for a guided tour!

The UChicago Alumni Club of Portland hosts a guided tour of the Portland Japanese Garden, a beautiful cultural landmark of the city. First built in 1980, it offers an educational and immersive experience into Japanese history and culture, all within the Portland city limits.

The private guided tour is an artistic experience that offers a richer, in-depth look into the philosophies of Japanese garden arrangements and architecture.

The garden is accessible by public transit, and is located right next to Washington Park, allowing more exploration of natural landscapes either before or after their Japanese Garden tour. The Garden is also directly facing the famed Portland International Rose Gardens on the hills overlooking downtown Portland, featuring another iconic scenic shot of the “City of Roses”.

This event is made possible at a discounted rate through a grant received from the Alumni Association.
