sold out - wait list only - UChicago Portland goes Kayaking!
UChicago PDX attempts another water festivity—a summer kayaking excursion on the Willamette River! This two hour scenic (at your own pace) kayaking trip is in a quiet kayak/paddle boat only section of the river. Whether you’re a newcomer to the city, a long-time resident, or just here for the summer, this is a great opportunity to experience the waters and the scenery from a different perspective. Kayaking in the Sauvie Island wetlands is a unique way to both enjoy Oregon’s renowned summer recreational opportunities and a great bonding experience with other alumni in the area! The number of small, peaceful creeks that make up the paddling trails cut into quiet forests, which are also home to numerous wildlife species. Beginners and families welcome!
Transportation to and from the event from downtown Portland is included in the ticket price. We will meet at the Lincoln High School parking lot, which is next to Providence Park.
*No kayaking experience necessary—we will be kayaking through smooth, family-friendly creeks only (i.e. no white water kayaking).
This event is discounted due to a generous grant from the Alumni Association.
